This is an exceptionally darling micro or fine beaded drawstring purse from the turn of the 19th century. Hand beaded on canvas with the 3 smallest sizes of hand-blown glass beads ever made, sizes 20/0, 22/0, and 24/0, which amounts to 600-1000 beads per square inch. This little baby has been well loved and well used. The most significant bead loss occurs on the bottom portion of the bag, which, coincidently, contains the most valuable and smallest ever made hand-blown glass beads. There is also a couple of beads missing here and there on the body and a half dozen or so from the very top. I believe it's restorable but may be better for bead salvaging or just display. It has a crocheted headed and there is a very small portion of the original drawstring present, but someone has placed a silk drawstring in as well. It is fully lined and the lining is intact. Laying flat the purse measures 3 1/4 inches wide and about 5 1/2 inches tall. SOLD
