A stunning example of a French cut steel beaded purse in gold, silver, gunmetal, brass and bronze, with lattice fringe from the early 1900's.This purse is in remarkably good shape for it's age, however, it does have a couple of small issues.

Overall, the beadwork is intact with no obvious separations of the woven rows or degraded thread due to the weight of the beads, with only a 1/4 inch of a row missing 4 maybe 5 beads (see photo). The seams are all intact with no holes, nor is there any separation from the purse frame, or holes at the hinges which is quite common with these purses. The fringe is also completely intact with no loose strands or missing beads.

The lining is of what was once probably a dark peach colored satin.  It has a gold colored brocade rickrack edging.  I'm not sure exactly what happened and whether it was something that occurred to the inside of the purse or the outside, but there is uniformly matching hole or deterioration on the inside lining that has also caused a uniformly small matching spots of rusting on both sides of the purse in the lower square pattern section (see photo).  This is the only damage to the purse lining and beading that I could see.  The lining could be replaced easily.

The frame is a kind of satiny gold color, I'm unsure of the metal content and could not find a makers mark.  It has a gold colored acorn kiss closure and opens and shuts securely, but one side of the frame does bow slightly (see photo).  The purse measures approximately 4 5/8 inches wide, 5 inches from bottom of frame to bottom of purse, fringe is close to 2 1/2 inches, purse chain is 11 inches for an overall hanging length of 13 inches!

Purse being sold "as is", it's very stunning and displays beautifully!!  An absolute "must have" for any purse collection!!
