I'm not truly sure of the age of this purse, I've had it for a number of years, stuffed away in a box and never used. I think it's from the 70's, perhaps the 80's. Lots of stuff going on with this purse, I'll try to make sure I cover it all.
The base material is a metallic lame' kinda fabric. It is covered with various beads, bronze and irised cut beads, round bronze and gold glass beads, and 1mm round gold beads. There are 14 rhinestones in the center portion design between the diamonds, and there are 5 brass filigree conchos and 1 large one. The design is the same on both the front and back. I couldn't find any missing or loose beads so I'd say the beadwork is all intact.
The frame is quite large with scrolling leaves and an urn in the front center. The acorn kiss closure snaps open and close tightly and securely. It is lined with what seems to be a brown vinyl type fabric with a side slip pocket. Lining is in perfect condition with no rips, tears, or holes. I could not find any makers label.
Purse measures 8 3/4 inches at the widest and 8 3/4 from the top center of the frame to the bottom of the purse. The stowable chain is hard to describe, but it's a whopping 47 inches long!! So, you can stow the chain and use it like a clutch purse, or as a shoulder bag with a carrying length of about 32inches!!! Holy Moly!!
Purse being sold "as is", even though I don't think it's ever been used!! It's very unique and displays beautifully!!
