An Original design by customer request for several different buckles.  This is a bead appliqué' belt buckle done with size 14/0 glass Japanese round beads representing the New Mexico State Flag.  It is backed with genuine pigskin leather.  Fits a 1 1/2 in belt and measures 3 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/8 inches high and took close to 13 hours of beadworking time to complete.  This is a One-Of-A-Kind creation, but if you'd like to order a custom belt buckle just contact Sunshine.

The yellow field and red symbol colors are the colors of Spain.  The red sun with 4 rays is an ancient symbol of the Native American people called the Zia.  The Zia believed that the giver of all good gave them gifts in groups of four.  These gifts are:

1)  The four directions - north, east, south, and west.
2)  The four seasons - spring, summer, fall, and winter.
3)  The day - sunrise, noon, evening, and night.
4)  Life itself - childhood, youth, middle years, and old age.

All of these are bound by a circle of life and love, without a beginning or end.
